Breaking The "Bad Boy" Myth

Dear female readers, believe it or not, more than just a few men believe that women like bad boys.

There’s an actual saying amongst men: “The bad guys get the girls while the good guys get friend-zoned.”

It is the reason some good men deliberately do certain things which cannot be perceived as appropriate.

So, men, let’s get to it then. Let’s break down this myth...

1    1.   Is it a fact that women like bad guys?

It is absolutely untrue that women like bad boys merely because they’re bad. Although there are always exceptions, most women fall for bad guys unintentionally. Nobody wants to date a rude jerk who doesn’t show manners or respect. Most of the time, the women aren’t even aware of what a jerk their boyfriends can be. I have quite a few female friends who went through this.

 2. Why do women fall for bad boys then?

Women do fall for bad boys, that’s the truth. It’s because of the following reasons:

1.When a guy is too nice, a girl thinks of him as sweet, no doubt, but they don’t think of them as boyfriend material, mainly because people who are too nice won’t be able to have the kind of fun the woman may want. A woman would like a nice man, but if the guy’s too careful with her, it just becomes boring for her.

2.Let’s face it, a bad guy shows an exemplary amount of confidence. More than often, nice guys are way too shy. Even if they aren’t, the way they talk doesn’t always show confidence.

3.Good guys lack decisiveness. Good guys are afraid to take the risk of disappointing their female counterpart with their decision. On the other hand, bad guys are very capable of taking decisions without any concern regarding what his female counterpart would think.

4.Women feel quite safe around bad boys. The reason for this? When a guy’s too nice, a woman can’t think of him being capable of protecting her. She knows that he won’t hurt her, but that doesn’t necessarily make her feel safe.

              The list goes on.

3     3.  Is there a solution to this problem?

There is, indeed, a solution to this issue. Here’s what you do:

1.Stop being a bad boy. Show some manners, be polite, be nice to people. Being good is extremely important.

2.Being good doesn’t mean you lose certain traits of a bad guy. Show confidence, be protective, stop thinking so much and start taking decisions on your own.

3.Love her, take care of her. Don’t just date her for fun and break her heart later.

There are many guys who are obsessed with increasing the number of girls they date. There are some guys who date girls merely for fun.

Well, if you do that, I have a message for you.

You have no idea how much it hurts when someone you love with all your heart throws you away like you’re nothing to him.

You have no idea how much it hurts to realise that the person you loved so much, spent so much time with, never really loved you.

You have no idea what it’s like to know that the person you spent so much time thinking about, the person who was the very foundation of all your dreams for a while, the person you thought of a future with, never even thought of you as more than ‘just another girl I’m fucking around with’.

You have no idea what it’s like when the very person who gave you hope, promised to stay, left...

If you haven’t changed your mind already, if you haven’t realised what you’ve done, how many hearts you’ve broken, what you put women through, then you don’t deserve to date. Ever.

P.S. If you’ve broken anyone’s heart and you feel sorry, it’s not too late, even if it’s been years. I know it’s difficult to apologise for you, but sometimes you have to. Your (ex) counterpart might still be affected by what you did, and sometimes all it takes is an apology from the wrongdoer. So go ahead and make someone’s day. Try to make things right.
